This is a 3 hour tour, so you are not rushed, you will have lots of time to enjoy the canyon and if you have time left over we will show you other hidden gems in the area.

We continue to the caves of Varandinha and finally to the beautiful Santa Monica beach.

At 355 meters above the sea level you will have the first stop, at Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, overlooking the beautiful and panoramic Funchal town. We drive towards the center of Madeira where you will find Curral das Freiras (Nun's Valley) surrounded by tremendous mountains. Curral das Freiras was previously used at the 15th century, as a refuge for the nuns of the Convent of Santa Clara. Before we reach the top mountain Pico do Arreiro, the 3rd highest peak, we will pass at Miradouro do Paredão with a spendid view to Curral das Freiras, and this area was subjectes to intensive reforestation works.

Strat with blessing of the Almighty magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which features exquisite artwork and stained tiles. We can visit the mosque every day in the morning (08:30 – 11:00), except Friday, and we recommend that you bring a headscarf or the equivalent of a hijab for ladies and dress properly. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not permitted. The garden farms with coconut, banana, papaya, and vegetable plantations will be the next stop. after that, we’ll go to Al Baleed, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Museum of the Frankincense Land. It displays the region’s historical and archaeological heritage, as well as its exceptional maritime tradition. The Al Baleed site is open from 08:30 AM to 8:00 PM on Sundays through Thursdays, and from 3:00PM to 8:00PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Following our visit to the historical site, we proceed to the Al Haffa Souq and a stop at Al Husn Palace. The best place to buy Frankincense gum and incense is at Al Haffa Souq.

Visit the epic Coffin Bay National Park, and drive along the turquoise ocean and rugged limestone cliff. Dip your toes in the turquoise water and enjoy the fine white sands, watch the Golden Island from the Golden Island lookout, and have a bird-eye view of the healthy reef system in Coffin Bay National Park. Travel through amazing sand dunes to the exclusive and beautiful beach around Gunyah Beach 4WD Track. The perfect soft and fine sand gives us an excellent opportunity to get some nice instagrammable photos as well! Coffin Bay offers one of the best emu encounter experiences in Australia, not only in the national park but also around town we will have great opportunities to spot these local residents. If you travel to Coffin Bay during spring, we may see some young chicks come over and say G'day!
