East Iceland Airport Transfers

Making our way through the rural countryside of East Iceland we'll travel along the valley of Jökuldalur and visit the Rjúkandi Waterfall before we head to Stuðlagil canyon. The canyon is one of the largest and most beautiful basalt rock formations in Iceland and has extremely photogenic scenery. After long day of exploring we will continue our travel to the ever relaxing Vök Baths and soak ourselves in the therapeutic water. This day-long adventure promises to be a harmonious blend of exploration, awe, and relaxation – a truly immersive experience that will linger in your memories for years to come. The Glacier Discovery tour takes you on a journey towards a majestic glacier ice fall. After a short 4×4 super-jeep drive that brings us very close to the glacier, we will put our crampons on, arm ourselves with ice axes and start our hike up the glacier. The tour is designed for those looking for an in depth glacier hike in Iceland. During this glacier hike your guide will teach you about the geology, geography and history of the local area, as well as pointing out some of the fascinating features of the ice. The glacier surface and colour changes constantly depending on the time of year and features such as Moulins, glacier cones and crevasses come and go. Our 4×4 vehicles brings us all the way to the edge of the glacier. After a short hike to reach the ice, your guide will show you how to use your crampons and ice axe. Fly over Vatnajökull and see the Grímsvötn eruption site from above on this 50-minute tour from Skaftafell. Grímsvötn is a basaltic volcano located on the northwestern side of the Vatnajökull ice cap. It has the highest eruption frequency of all volcanoes in Iceland. The most recent eruptions in Grímsvötn were in 2011, 2004, 1998 and 1996. Choose from multiple departure times to suit your schedule.

On this tour, we fly over the colorful area of Kjós located at the head of Mosárdalur glacier valley on our way to the highest peak in Iceland, Hvannadalshnjúkur (2116m). Then we continue over Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, featuring huge floating icebergs. Along the way, You will enjoy the views of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and Esjufjöll Mountains before heading back.

On this tour, we fly to the west of Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, over the vast ice sheet of Skeiðarárjökull and to Grænalón glacial lake. From there we fly west over Síðujökull glacier before flying over the Lakagígar volcano craters. On the way back we go southeast along the edge of Skeiðarárjökull where you will get a panoramic view of its massive size.
