Experience the samurai experience in a museum-like place with lots of armor on display! You will choose your favorite kimono and hakama, change into a samurai costume, and learn how to use a sword from a samurai. You will learn how to draw a sword, hold a sword, swing a sword, and retract a sword. After learning basic sword usage, they practice a simple chambara (sword fight). Then we will try to exterminate bad guys to the music! You can take videos with your smart phone, take pictures with the samurai, and have a great samurai time. The teachers are authentic teachers who have appeared in major Japanese dramas and movies. Since you have come all the way to Japan on a trip, you will have a wonderful experience of Samurai culture! The dojo has many weapons on display, including swords and spears. You will also find armor on display. Watch Japan’s unique and traditional sport Sumo with a knowledgeable tour guide. If you are in Tokyo in January, March or September, you should not miss it!(the tournaments take place 6 times a year; 3 times in Tokyo, once in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka respectively. Each tournament lasts for 15 days. ) Meet your English speaking guide at the JR Ryogoku station and walk to the stadium(2mins walk). Your guide will talk you through what is Sumo, its history and rules before entering the stadium and give you additional tips in between the bouts. Feel the intense, serious atmosphere of the tournament while you are free to grab some beer, Yakitori(skewers), etc.. at the vendor inside the stadium and eat/drink at your seat. *Food and drinks are not included in this tour.

The Sumo Tournament Experience in Tokyo with Japan Awaits is an experience at the famous Grand Sumo Tournament that occurs only three times a year in Tokyo (January, May, and September). Kimono rental shop YUI offers a vast array of kimono, ranging from easy to wear light kimono for street walks to traditionally made silk kimono for official occasions. The shop owner practices tea ceremony and will complement the experience with a short lesson on how to drink Matcha tea according to the Japanese traditions. If you are going to try on a kimono, we recommend using the photo plan. A professional photographer who is familiar with the nearby locations will accompany you and take wonderful portraits. We also have a studio, so you can take photos in a kimono even in the unlikely event of bad weather. The activity is also suitable for children above 1-year-old and wheelchair users!

Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, built 400 years ago, symbolizes Fukagawa in the Edo period. Our facility is located within the precincts. Begin your experience with a short introductory video highlighting the history of Japanese calligraphy, followed by a guided tutorial covering the basics of brushwork and kanji writing. Then, for your final product, you'll be able to write your name or character directly onto a traditional paper kite or a paper fan, creating a personalized souvenir to bring home with you. About Samurai Samurai were warriors who served feudal lords during the Edo period (1603-1868), which began in the 16th century, and were held in the highest position in the status system with high ethical standards such as righteousness, humanity, courtesy, and loyalty.

After the instructor’s demonstration, you make your own sushi, roll and two side dishes all by yourselves. All of the experiences are prepared to be one of the highlights in this class. No doubt that you will enjoy the class!! You also learn Japanese traditional seasonings and ingredients used in this cooking experience. Please let us know if you cannot eat fish. We will prepare vegetable options. Some memorable pictures are taken during the class and you can get all of them after the class!

I offer a family-hosted cultural workshop in Tokyo, teaching traditional Japanese crafts with my child. Choose from five hands-on activities: origami, calligraphy, washi dyeing, wagashi (Japanese sweets), and daruma painting. All are beginner-friendly and suitable for kids and adults. As a former elementary school teacher and experienced workshop leader, I’ve taught calligraphy and art in schools and family events. I love creating fun, creative spaces where kids and adults can learn through making. My goal is to offer more than a cultural activity—it’s a chance to connect through creativity. I welcome families who want to enjoy Japanese culture in a relaxed, friendly setting. My child joins the workshop, and children often enjoy the shared experience. Sessions are near Hiroo Station in central Tokyo. You can choose one activity or combine two for a personalized experience. I provide basic English support. You can meet real geisha in Tokyo. You can watch their performances, talk to them directly, and take commemorative photos together.
