Meet the hunter and his dogs, who are specially trained to sniff out truffles, you’ll have a good chance of tracking down the elusive fungi. Along the way, learn more about truffles and why they are so rare, and pick up expert tips on how to find them. The experience ends with a wine tasting paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top. "The price for the truffle hunting experience does not include the trifulao’s fee. This fee is: 40€ per person for groups of two people 30€ per person for groups of three or more The fee must be paid in cash directly to the Trifulao on the day of the experience, based on the total number of participants."

Discover the secrets of truffle hunting among the enchanting hills of San Gimignano, one of the most fascinating gems of Tuscany. This exclusive experience will allow you to immerse yourself in the typical Tuscan landscape, accompanied by me, an expert truffle hunter for 3 generations, and my faithful dogs. During the excursion, you will learn the ancient truffle hunting techniques passed down by my family, and you will learn more about this rare and precious ingredient, typical of Tuscan cuisine. You will walk with me and my dogs in the woods, and this is the most fascinating part of the route, where you can see my dogs in action! While we will only perceive the scent of the woods, my dogs will be able to sniff the hidden aroma of truffles, and give us this precious ingredient that you will be able to savor in the most authentic way. At the end of the Tour you will receive very fresh truffles, including those just found, and instructions on how to preserve and cook them.

Explore the mysterious, magical world of truffles, wander through the woods in the company of a local expert truffle hunter and his dogs and enjoy a unique and direct experience of this ancient tradition. Truffles are a seasonal delicacy but in this area we are very lucky, in spring we can find the Marzuolo or March truffle, in summer the Tartufo Nero Scorzone, a black Summer truffle, while in winter there are black winter truffles but also sometimes the famous " Bianco delle Crete Senesi", the highly prized white truffle. Outside our farm house we meet up with our expert truffle hunter and his wonderful dogs. To help you get the best of the companionship of the truffle hunter, a mine of information on truffles, the dogs, the woods and countryside and the local area in general you will be accompanied by an English speaking interpreter – generally an interpreter who also assists in the cooking classes and so able to give you tips on storing and using the truffles in the kitchen.

After a one-hour comfortable drive from Florence to the Chianti region, you will meet with our professional truffle hunter. You will enjoy hiking through vineyards and woods, having fun hunting truffles with his trained dogs. You will discover the main features and secrets of truffles. The two hours truffle hunting activity will be followed by a truffle-based Tuscan lunch featuring several truffle specialties paired with the finest Chianti wines. The tour will continue on with a guided visit to the famous medieval village of San Gimignano where you will visit the main sites, admire the panoramic view on the surrounding countryside and, if you feel like it, taste the delicious Gelato made by the world Championship winner Dondoli! I'm a professional truffle hunter from 3 generations in Alba. My grandfather after the 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunters in Alba, he taught my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me. I'm a dog trainer & actually I've got 3 great dogs: Isi, Palli & Lisa. I would like to teach "some' 'of my truffle hunting secrets to travelers. During the tour you will be helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide with great passion for truffles and local traditions to translate every part of the hunting.

You will experience in first person a unique experience in search of the precious truffle with a tour on the wood trails.

Departure from meeting point is at around 9.30-10 a.m. (in your own vehicle) and, after a walk in the woods around the estate, you will return to Winery around 12 a.m… right on time for a wine tasting in our Wine shop space you will taste 3 wines paired with a selection of local truffle based delicacies and course of homemade pasta or risotto with truffles. This unique experience can be enjoyed all year round with the exception of May (month when hunting is forbidden), and is open to anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability.

 Super exciting experience in Lake Como on the mountain on top of Bellagio, about 40 miles north of Milano : you can go picking mushrooms or truffle hunting with Chef Luigi and his secret truffle hunters and his dog.
