A nice tour to Fontainebleau Castle is located about 60 km south-east of Paris. It served as the residence of the French kings for seven centuries, from Francois I to Napoleon III. Many crowned people of Europe came here, including Emperor Peter I and Pope Pius VII. Here Napoleon was saying goodbye to his army during his first abdication from the throne, and from there he went to the island of Elba.
