Enjoy the calligraphy experience of traditional Japanese culture. With 25 years of experience as a calligraphy instructor, I will provide you with easy-to-understand and detailed instruction. We will talk about Japanese letters, explain how to use calligraphy tools, and teach you the basics of how to use a brush. Then, students choose one of the 12 kanji that are popular overseas, practice it, and write it on a Japanese board. Sign your name, place it in a special art frame, and your original work of art is complete. You can take it home, so please display it at home. At the end, enjoy green tea and Japanese sweets, and take a commemorative photo. It will be a wonderful memory for you. The event will be held on the first floor of a hotel in Shinsaibashi, the center of Osaka. It's very convenient, just 1 minute walk from the subway station.

This calligraphy workshop focuses on creating text related to the surrounding hot spring region of Beppu. Participants can learn how to write words such as '温泉' – 'onsen' (meaning 'hot spring') and '地獄' – 'jigoku' (meaning 'hell'), under the guidance of a friendly local instructor. As well as being able to take your one-of-a-kind masterpiece home with you, this is also a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the charm of traditional Japanese culture, learning not only technique but also Japanese calligraphy etiquette.

Now, it can be found not only as works of art but also in things such as New Year's cards and other special occasion writings. This art form is now a part of Japanese culture.

Activity take place in 300-year-old Zen temple. Being away from the tourist spot, this place is really quiet and relaxing. Calligraphy has imported to Japan during 6C from China. Learn to draw the line with brush. Check the sample carefully to copy the Chinese charactor. We will ask your name so that we can prepare your name in Japanese Phonetics. Practice your name in Japanese. Write your letter on the rice scoop. Rice scoop(shamoji) is lucky item in Miyajima. Bring back the good luck with you! You can take pictures as much as you want while you are in here, and we will take pictures of you doing the lessons. You can take pictures in our Japanese garden, too. Our lesson is very good introduction to the Japanese authentic cultures. Wearing kimono make it even more special that could be the highlight of your trip.

This is a 2-hour calligraphy workshop in Namba, downtown Osaka. Even if you are a beginner, no worries as a Japanese calligraphy instructor will give you detailed instructions step by step. Writing Japanese using a brush and ink will be an unforgettable experience. In this workshop, you will know what the Japanese calligraphy really is besides learning calligraphy with writing your own name in kanji or katakana. At the end of the workshop, you will create a one-of-a-kind handwritten souvenir by writing your name on colored paper or on a name tag.
