The UTAGE LIVE SHOW will not only feature familiar Japanese instruments such as taiko, shamisen, shakuhachi and shinobue, but also one of the largest and most powerful giant Japanese drums in the Kansai region (180 cm in diameter), which will not only perform but also enliven the audience with a variety of performances and visual elements. Guests will be invited on stage to experience the performance of the Japanese instruments and will also have the opportunity to participate in one of the songs in the show. Based on Japanese musical instruments and dance music, various performers, such as sword fighters and lion dancers, perform a fusion, as the name suggests, of "appreciation" and the guests' own "participation" in this one-of-a-kind entertainment show. There is also a special programme for guests to touch and experience Japanese musical instruments. ※Please note that this show may contain content that is not suitable for all audiences, including explicit lyrics.

The show is 1 hour long and conveniently located only a few steps away from major tourist attractions. During the show, musicians will take small intermissions to talk about the musical instruments involved, give information about the history of the performed pieces, and interact with the audience. The Zakuro show will be easy to understand for both Japan residents and travelers. The show is Bilingual! Zakuro team will translate everything into English. Zakuro Show musicians play Japanese Harp (Koto), Japanese Base Harp, Japanese Flute (Shakuhachi), and Japanese drums (Taiko). Zakuro show has a small and cozy venue. Photos and videos are allowed, and you will also have a chance to take pictures together with musicians after the show.

This studio's drums are made in the traditional way, by hollowing them out of a large single tree and they are very rare. You can enjoy real Japanese drums. The experience is suitable for all ages and levels of ability, so everyone can enjoy it. Since ancient times, Taiko has been deeply connected to the lives of the Japanese people. Japanese culture experience(Dance or Drama show + Selfie with actors) that very close to Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Rinnoji temple at the World Heritage Sites. "Taishu-Engeki" is a traditional performing art that few Japanese people know about, but I want the world to know about it! it is a new traditional Japanese performing art that incorporates modern culture. The content of the show changes every time, and you can take pictures with the actors. Nikko's night entertainment is HERE! Dance show(0:00-0:30, 2:30-3:30,8:00-8:40)— Dancers wearing kimonos change costumes and makeup one after another and come out dancing. It's not just traditional Japanese music. World Hits will also appear. Snacks and drinks are included for those who only watch the short show starting at 0:00. Hitrical Drama(1:00-2:00)— You can get a glimpse of Japanese life in the era of samurai, ninjas, and geishas. Sometimes there are skits, sometimes humanistic plays, and sometimes sword plays.

Your host Hisako learned to cook from her mother and sister and is passionate about sharing Japanese home cooking with travelers using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Her other passion is music – Hisako studied classical music at the Guild Hall School of Music in London for two years. Her husband Atsuo has a tech consulting office in Kyoto and is a match maker between high tech companies in USA and Japan.  Your cooking class will begin with a short introduction to miso, a fundamental element of Japanese cooking. There are many kinds of miso and Hisako's introduction will help to demystify the varieties and their usage. You will learn to make 2-3 authentic Japanese dishes with Hisako in her kitchen that you will later share at the dining table in their modern Japanese home.  Your experience will end on a musical note, with Hisako playing and singing one of her favorite songs.

Let's play "Koto", Japanese traditional stringed instrument! Come join to my class of "Koto" . You can enjoy Japanese culture with experience by playing a traditional instrument in Odawara city. Odawara is a castle town, and easy to access before / after visiting Hakone. The outline of this experience is as below -Explanation about a Koto -Instruction how to play the Koto by using special attachment nails -Try playing the Koto -Collaboration with the instructor -Performance playing the Koto by the instructor -Photo session I am qualified to teach Koto.

This koto workshop takes place in a peaceful location surrounded by the Takase and Kamo rivers in Kyoto, where you can experience a calming moment while immersing yourself in the beautiful sound of the koto. This small group experience allows participants to receive personalized, detailed instruction from the instructor, making it easy for beginners to join and feel at ease. Additionally, you’ll have the rare opportunity to hear a live performance by a professional instructor up close and experience her playing techniques firsthand. By the end of the workshop, every participant will have mastered one piece. Experience the charm of the koto and get a sense of accomplishment by mastering a song.

If you would like to experience real Japanese (also traditional) culture in a Japanese ordinary house near Tokyo area, we belive this is the GO place. Our service includes experiencing Japanese traditional tea ceremony, playing Japanese Koto (a Japanese harp) music, trying on Japanese traditional outfit, cotton Kimono ( Ninja costume is also available!! ), and cooking Japanese cuisine, Hiroshima style Japanese cabbage pancake (Okonomiyaki) , or rolled vegetables sushi. Cooking , basically prepared Okonomiyaki with pork. I can arrange pork to shrimp. If you don’t want pork, please request shrimp in advance. If you want to cook Norimaki rolls ( Rolled sushi) This is tasty and healthy dish, also suitable for vegan and any religious people . If you don’t have food restrictions, I can include fish for a more diverse experience. Please let me know your cooking choice in advance.
