Kangaroo Island Luxury Small Group Flinders Chase Focus Full Day Tour

Immerse yourself in the stunning wilderness of the Flinders Chase National Park on this full-day tour of Kangaroo Island. Keep your camera close by as you spot dramatic landmarks like Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks; drive to the North Coast where you sill observe koalas, kangaroos, wallabies in their natural habitats. Set out in search of colorful birds like the Rainbow Lorikeet, in the eucalyptus forrest then watch the sunset over the Bay of Shoals (time of the year permitting). This small-group tour is limited to 8 people for a personalized experience.

Travel to the west end – a huge wilderness in a series of conservation parks, a national park and wilderness protection areas. Break for morning tea en-route and learn about a century of conservation activities. Explore the massive natural shapes of Remarkable Rocks – looking like some dramatic natural sculpture perched impossibly on top of a dome of granite emerging from the ocean.  Visit Admirals Arch – a coastal grotto where a large colony of long-nosed fur-seals swim effortlessly through the crashing waves. Lunch today is a picnic enjoyed on the cliff tops or in the bush and consists of poached chicken, local cheeses, fresh fruit, a salad prepared on the spot and a choice of fine Kangaroo Island wines. After lunch, get off the beaten path to explore some of the lesser known places seeking out more wildlife encounters. Depending on season, we visit "Grassdale" to experience some pioneer heritage or seek out kangaroos lazing in the field.

Kangaroo Island has plenty to offer everyone. Enjoy a full day out visiting a number of outlets on the island while taking in spectacular scenery along the way. Visit Clifford's Honey where you will learn about the Ligurian Bee, then stop next at the Eucalyptus Distillery to taste the local eucalyptus and enjoy some cider tastings. Head to Emu Bay Lavender Farm for morning tea. Enjoy wine tasting at Bay of Shoal Wines while taking in the breathtaking views. Enjoy lunch at either Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafood or Cactus Cafe, before heading to Kangaroo Island Spirits to experience some award winning gin. If time permits, we will stop at one more winery along the way before heading back to your accommodation.

Have a cuppa with some home-made treats before taking a walk down a country track where koalas snooze overhead or wake briefly for a feed. Walk through the bush with your guide – through strangely shaped trees learning what makes that noise, whose tracks are those, and who left THAT little pile there? Look for small wallabies almost extinct on the mainland, a kangaroo found only on Kangaroo Island and a variety of other birds, plants and animals. Break for lunch at a private bush camp and enjoy a delicious meal featuring King George whiting (local sea fish), fresh salads and fine South Australian wines. At Seal Bay Conservation Park take a private tour among Australian sea-lions on a beautiful sandy beach. Watch pups nursing or playing in the surf, see old bulls bearing the scars of territorial disputes and learn about their unique breeding biology.
