General description: Discover the natural reserve of Khustai that houses the Przewalski's horses (takhi). The takhi are direct descendants from prehistoric horses and the last ones that man failed to domesticate. KHUSTAI  NATIONAL PARK: The nature reserve is about 100 km south-west of Ulaanbaatar. Highest point is 1842 m, There are over 10 fresh water rivers, populations of Asian red deer, steppe gazelle, deer, boar, wild cat, wolf and lynx, 126 kinds or birds, 450 floras.  In between 1992-2001 Takhi (wild horse) was adopted from Holland in Khustai National Park. A total of 84 Przewalski horses are brought 4 times. In the beginning of 1900, wealthy zoo director from Humburg in Germany came to Mongolia and bought 51 foal of wild horses and sold to a wealthy  people in Dutch, French, and America. Now Mongolia have nearly 350 number of wild horses.In order to protect the wild horses, Khustai became Special protected area. Many tourist like to visit to see Przewalski's horse and deer, marmots in this area.

After you are picked up in the morning from your hotel or location you specified in Ulaanbaatar, you will be driven to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, a semi-desert type beautiful landscape with big sand dunes. Your lunch will be served at a suitable spot on the way. The mountain is home to hundreds of birds, deer, and gazelle. You can go hiking around the area or ride a camel for a couple of hours to the small sand dunes nearby called Elsen Tasarkhai. Later, you will visit a local nomad family where you will have an opportunity to experience their way of life, culture, and traditions. Afterward, We will visit Khustai National Park as a bonus where we are going to see the world-only wild Przewalski horses in Mongolia. The park is also home to red deer, marmots, 220 species of birds, and other wildlife. Then you will be transferred back to Ulaanbaatar where this tour concludes.

In 2002, the UNESCO certified the Hustai National Park as a member of the world biosphere network of natural reserves. The HNPT enrolled as a member of IUCN in 2007.
