At Village Cooking Class Kandy, we offer a unique opportunity to learn traditional Sri Lankan cooking in a village setting. The experience begins with a visit to a local market, where you’ll learn how to select fresh vegetables and ingredients essential to Sri Lankan cuisine. Back at the village, you’ll be guided through the preparation and cooking of authentic dishes, giving you hands-on experience in crafting a perfect Sri Lankan meal.
You are welcome to join as an individual, a couple, or a group. It offers a wonderful opportunity. Our traditional cooking class is based in Kandy, and we accommodate groups of all sizes, from individuals to groups of up to 15 people.
By the end, you'll have the chance to prepare a complete traditional meal. Finally, you'll enjoy tasting the delicious food. In addition, this experience includes a brief visit to a nearby village, providing you with a unique insight into local life.

She learned to cook from her mother when she was a teenager and has not stopped cooking since, experimenting with unique cooking techniques whenever she can. Being half Malay and half Moore, and having friends from various communities, she has learned a variety of dishes from recipes she has gleaned from grandmothers, aunts, neighbors and friends. She cooks authentic Sri Lankan food, both Sinhalese and Muslim cuisines.
