This is an amazing walk in the Central Balkan National Park. The trail offers real wilderness in combination with cozy touristic huts. The landscape is varied. It comprises ancient beech and coniferous forests where the average age of the trees is around 150 years, high-mountain meadows and narrow rocky strips along the main mountain crest. It is part of the E3 European long-distance walking route. The Balkan mountain gives the name of the Balkan Peninsula. This tour offers many opportunities for hiking all year round. We meet the horses and get brief instructions. We saddle the horses and head along forest paths to the Ridge of Lisets Mountain, from where a splendid panorama view to Teteven Balkan is revealed. Riding through a century-old beech forest we approach Glozhen Monastery. Its impressive silhouette perched on an inaccessible rock is one of the most impressive sights in Bulgaria. After a short walk inside we return to Golyam Izvor. Drive back to Sofia. Riding: 4-5 hours Note: This tour is suitable both for beginners and experienced riders.

With this tour you will discover the "little secrets" of the Balkan – authentic villages, dense forests, splendid panoramas and numerous legends. The journey begins in Sapareva Banya, the city is famous for its hot mineral springs. On the way we will pass through St. Stephen's Monastery, the "Silver" area and the "Pariloto" where excavation works in 1915 revealed an ancient Roman artifact which testifies the Roman presence in this area, which was also one of the stops on the nearby main military road – the so-called "Dalmatian Road". We will see an interesting rock formation called "Evangelous Stone", which resembles the pyramid facing upside down.The legend says that people with sins, if they can get through this triangle, their sins will be forgiven. Nearby, in the breathtakingly beautiful Trigrad Gorge, lies the Devil’s Throat cave – a place that has inspired countless legends. Its underground rivers lead to unknown places, and it is said that whatever enters their murky waters is never seen again.
