The tour starts in the red lantern-adorned local izakaya area of Omoide Yokocho or the bustling district of Kabukicho. Next, we'll head to Kabukicho, Japan's largest neon-lit entertainment district. Afterward, we'll visit the Golden Gai area. As we have connections to bars that don't accept general customers, our tour will grant you access to these hidden gems. We generally go to the places mentioned above, but there may be times when we can't go to bars or izakayas due to circumstances. What's the Story? Tokyo’s streets take on another life after dark. Wandering the neon-lit back streets of Kabukicho, the city’s major red light and entertainment district, one gets a sense of a world hidden amidst the neon haze. What We'll Shoot We will explore creative ways of shooting street photography in the night-scape of Tokyo’s most colorful districts. In addition to understanding the ideal settings for night street photography, we will learn how to creatively use reflections, and how to capture silhouettes while shooting in high contrast or very dark conditions. Where We'll Explore We'll delve into the heart of Shinjuku and Shibuya. We start off at Shinjuku Station, head towards Kabukicho, and end up in Omoideyokocho (Memory Lane). After that we'll go by train to Shibuya and ending our journey in the famous scramble crossing.

You’ll explore Shinjuku with one of our friendly hosts, sampling different varieties of Japanese rice wine – better known as sake! Whether you’d prefer a tiny izakaya (traditional Japanese bar, which actually means ‘stay in sake shop’) or a standing bar (a tachinomiya) where only 10 can squeeze in at a time, the choice is yours!
