The Museum Complex "Orheiul Vechi", it's a museum in open space. It contains the remains of different civilizations: in stony caves it is certified the presence of the first human establishments, lasting from a few thousands of years. In V-III centuries B.C. there was a powerful Dacia fortress. The place is famous as well for its cave monasteries. The underground kingdom "Pivniţele din Brăneşti" (Brănești Cellars) is located in a scenic area in the coast of Orheiul Vechi. It always arouses astonishment of numerous local and foreign visitors. "Pivniţele din Brăneşti" have a total area of 75ha, stretching on a distance of 58 km at a depth of 60 m under the ground. "Pivniţele din Brăneşti" produce white and red wines, sparkling, dry, semi-dry and dessert. Particularly popular are the collecton wines and the wines produced by special technology, such as Madeira, Marsala, pastoral wine.
