Pirin – the third highest mountain in Balkan peninsula, the marble beauty of Bulgaria. The older name of that mountain was Perun, the Slavic god of Thunder. When Christianity spread all around the land, this was the last stronghold for the Slavic gods.  Later the name was transformed to Pirin.
