Paradise Cave and Phong Nha cave are located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park which were formed by the karst terrain, inside of limestone mountains. First 5km of Paradise Cave has been discovered by explorers of the British Cave Research Association in 2005. Until 2010, the explorers officially announced that they has fully discovered the whole cave which is 31,4km full length. The widest part of the cave is around150 meters and the highest point is around 100 meters which makes the cave longest and biggest dry cave in Asia. In the mean time, Phong Nha Cave is well-known as the water cave, which covers an underground river reaching to the border of Laos with over 13km total length. The limestone in the caves of Wombeyan Karst Conservation Reserve is 430 million years old. The geological processes that have created the magnificent cave system you see today continue to work their magic. You'll notice the impressive cave decorations, including stalactites and stalagmites, that are created by the infiltration of water into the caves. Please note: • Visitors are requested to leave the cave by 4.15pm. • The cave is accessed by a token-operated door, a 15min walk from the visitor centre. Online ticket holders will need to collect a token from the visitor centre before heading to the cave entrance. • There is a moderately steep, 500m gravel path to the cave entrance. • The ground in the cave can be slippery, so please take care. • The temperature in the cave is approximately 15˚C all year round. • Food is not permitted inside the cave. • The cave is not suitable for prams. • Please use the public amenities at the visitor centre as there are no toilets near the caves.
