5 hour Wellington City Heights Shared tour

Mt Wellington Explorer
Rising 1270 metres above sea level, experience spectacular views over Hobart and Southern Tasmania. At the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington, you'll have 30 minutes to visit the observation shelter and take in panoramic views from the lookouts. If you're looking for a little more adventure, you have the option to hop-on and hop-off at five Wellington Park bus stops. Bus pass valid all day. On snow days, when the gates are closed to the public, this tour is operated by our partners at kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus, the only bus approved to go beyond the closed gates on the mountain, to give you access to the snow.

Half Day Tour in Wellington

We'll start in the city but quickly make our way to the best views iat Mount Victoria lookout. Then we'll head out to the suburbs cruising through Lyall Bay beach & stopping at the Weta Cave (hop out). Leaving from the grand Neo-classical train station, a quick walk to the Parliament grounds will provide insight into New Zealand and Wellington politics. From here we'll take a walk atop the Wellington seismic fault line to the botanic gardens, these gardens marry the exotic with the native beautifully, and we shall garner an understanding of New Zealand's unique flora and fauna as we walk through some dense New Zealand bush.
Reaching the top of the gardens, at the top of the cable car, we'll take in the beautiful view, point out some landmarks and generally orientate ourselves.
From here we will walk through suburbs and places 90 percent of tourists never see, winding up on Cuba st, the heart of the city, for a quick refreshment.

After collecting our guests in the city, we start the day on a high (excuse the pun) by heading up to the Mount Victoria lookout. From there we zip to Lyall Bay beach on the way to the Weta Cave where you'll hop out to visit the Weta store. After a break for lunch you get a ride on the Cable Car & after we collect you at the top, we head downtown to Parliament/Beehive & the Lady Norwood Rose Garden.
We may as well visit Old St Pauls church whilst we're there but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.
