Our destination is the historic city of Essaouira, a small seaside town with an old fortified fishing port. Founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese who occupied it till the mid of the 18th century. the impressive town fortification consists of an amazing mixture of the Portuguese, Berber and French architecture. You will have enough time to explore the small city at your leisure such as the souks and carpentry workshops devoted to Thuya wood carving. See numerous art galleries in the medina and visit the fortified harbor with its stalls of fresh fish.

We will get a chance to meet the community of Berbers, where we can share a drink and learn how to make traditional Berber tea! Start the trip to Essaouira from Marrakech at 8 AM, the mountain range of the Atlas, whose peaks are recently covered with snow, on the right, threatening clouds is thickening.
