Water Course

The BUZOS DE BARU dive center is a PADI RESORT with more than 20 years of continuous operation in the city, positioned as one of the best diving schools in Cartagena. We have qualified PADI instructors, and trained personnel for teaching and diving guidance We have a great infrastructure in diving equipment, compressor, boats, training pool, and an excellent team ready to help and accompany you in your first steps of this beautiful activity.

Our main focus when teaching people how to dive is Marine Conservation, make the difference while learning how to dive. We included conservation during all the courses phases, you'll learn and help us to keep our reefs safe when learning how to dive properly.

Diving is fun, and this Open Water Diver course is your first step to become an independent diver. The course includes theory part with SSI materials (e-learning, watching movies, discussing with Instructor), 6 dives in the sea with complete equipment, SSI test, OWD international certificate AND T-SHIRT AS A GIFT. The courses starts every Monday and Thursday (or required dates) at 10.00 am and it takes 3 to 6 days, 4 to 6 hours every day to complete the course.

There are more than 2.2 million species of organisms living in the oceans, of which only 194,400 are known. This 3-day course includes a theoretical and a practical part with 4 dives in the sea. Our experienced instructor will help you master the theory with humor and professionalism. We will send you in advance a digital course manual so that you can learn before your holiday. Following the theoretical exam, you will officially join the ranks of divers!

We work in small groups which allows us to give great personal attention and give that bit of extra that makes it a safe and unforgetable experience!

PADI eLearning lets you access the material for one year, plus gain unlimited access to an online version of the course manual. This takes away from the need for a classroom and can be completed where you feel most comfortable, either while on vacation or before leaving home. You can also complete it here starting the day before the course. Once you complete your eLearning you will have 2 mornings of confined water practice. Then, after confined water practice in the morning, you will go to do your open water dives in the afternoon. Over the two days, you will experience dives in some world-class dive sites including MUSA. MUSA (Underwater Museum of Art) is in the waters surrounding Cancun and Isla Mujeres and has over 500 life-size sculptures used to promote coral life. Within 3 days you can have your PADI Open Water Diver Course completed and start your adventures in diving.

TamaDive is focused on safety and personalized service. Don’t worry about anything; that's our job! In this 3 days course you will learn the basics of diving. During the first day, you will watch some diving videos and practice basic diving skills in the pool with your instructor. On the second day, you will discover the wonderful underwater fauna of Costa Rica in 2 open water dives while applying everything learned in the first day. And, on the last day, you will do the last 2 dives and take the final exam, thus consolidating everything seen before.

The PADI E-learning Advanced Open Water course can be completed in 2 days and consists of 5 adventure dives. Two of these will be a deep dive and a navigation dive and then you get to choose 3 more dives from 9 available adventure dives. A very fun course and will greatly improve your scuba diving skills.

PADI Open Water is the most-recognized scuba certification in the world! With this certification, you will be able to dive anywhere in the world (with or without a dive professional) and will be able to take other certification classes in the future, like PADI Advanced Open Water, Underwater Photography, Wreck Diving and more.

What You Learn: Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases: Knowledge Development (home study) to understand basic principles of scuba diving. Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills. Open Water Dives to review your skills & explore! If you've tried diving through a 'Discover Scuba Diving' experience', the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full Open Water Diver course certification.

Usually we dive daily, except Sunday, from 9:30am in small groups so that your personal instructor is always close to you. During the dives you will see many different fish, marine life and  the interesting volcanic underwater world of Tenerife.   The price oft the course Includes: The use of all diving equipment, course literature, logbook, PADI diving fee and, upon request, free pick-up service from your accommodation within a radius of approximately 12 miles (20km) from our Dive Centre.  Additonal cost may apply if distance is more that 10 miles. Please consult us.   Prerequisite for the course is a reasonable state of health. For this you might need a certificate from a doctor. It is also possible to confirm your good state of health on the basis of a list of questions yourself. On request we can send you the health questionaire by e-mail. Please note that you should not dive 24 hours before flying.
