With more than 100 years of existence, Poças lies in the hands of the 4th generation, being one of the very few Port Wine company that was born Portuguese and still belongs to the same Portuguese family. The Old Tawny Ports have built Poças’ reputation but DOC Douro wines have been proving their own quality over the last 30 years. Recently, Poças received the award of “Fortified wine producer of the year 2018” by the Portuguese magazine “Revista de Vinhos”. Additionally, welcoming about 28 000 visitors per year, our Visitor Center has been also distinguished with the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. If we talk about Tuscany, we cannot ignore the culture linked to tradition and history: the proposed activity is one of a kind, and interesting, since it allows access to a symbolic place of the valley that would otherwise not be possible to visit. Podere degli Olmi is the only original Leopoldina house that can be visited, and since it is private, access is only possible through this experience. The guide will be the descendant of one of the oldest noble families, who will tell you every detail of the Valdichiana and its traditions. This tour is an unforgettable experience that will allow you to admire the Bay of Naples from the top of the mountain. The tour starts every day from Naples. After the second stop in Pompeii to pick up the last passengers, the driver will take you to the slopes of the volcano where you will stop at a restaurant with a breathtaking view. Here you will have the opportunity to taste wines, typical of the area, accompanied by inviting local products. The Vesuvius area is still characterized today by the presence of indigenous grape varieties. Each wine (from Lacryma Christi to Caprettone) is capable of telling you the history of the area and can be conceived as an ambassador of the culture and traditions of the area. The tour will continue at a height of 1000 meters. up to the ticket office from where you will start walking to the very top of the volcano to see the crater and listen to the explanations of the National Park volcanological guide.
