Itinerary

Day 1: Adventure on the Island

Stop At: Moreton Island, Moreton Island, Brisbane Region, Queensland
After pickup travel with your guide on the ferry across Moreton Bay. Capture picturesque views, and enjoy cafe and bar amenities on board, if you wish (own expense).

When you arrive on the island, start your day of outdoor activities. Check out the Tangalooma Wrecks, which were intentionally formed from 15 old ships as a breakwater to create a safe diving spot. Head into the bay on a guided snorkeling tour to see spiny corals, dolphins, tropical reef fish and up to six species of sea turtles. Then share your stories of your underwater adventure over a picnic lunch on the beach.

After lunch, explore the wonders of the reef around the Tangalooma Wrecks in a transparent kayak. With your guide, admire an awesome array of fish as they whiz under the see-through bottom of your kayak. Next, continue your island fun inland with a wild sandboarding ride down the sand dunes at speeds up to 44 mph (70 kph). Watch the sunset over Moreton Bay.
