What to Expect When Visiting Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia
This tour offers an authentic Byron Bay hinterland experience to travellers visiting the Northern Rivers. It allows the community to learn about local products, meet with their local farmers and understand the hard work behind following sustainable farming practices. This is the perfect outdoor activity to discover the beauty of the Northern Rivers and taste the delicious products of the Byron hinterland.
This permaculture farm workshop will introduce many ways rainforest bushfood plants can be used in garden and farm design, how to grow, harvest, cook and preserve them. You will also learn about incredible tropical vegetables and how to grow them at home. We will harvest fresh Lemon Myrtle leaves to brew up for morning tea, which will feature home-made bushfoods preserves and dishes accompanied by local Nimbin food specialities such as artisan sourdough breads, Nimbin Valley Dairy and Mountain Top Coffee.
You will also have the opportunity to buy a copy of Robyn Francis’ Bushfood Cook Book at 50% discount.
The workshop includes return transportation from your pick-up location in Byron Bay to the Farm. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at least 48h prior to the workshop.
