Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Taylors Mistake Beach, a beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches. There will be an opportunity to pick up hot drinks-to-go on the way. The drive is approximately 30 minutes. On arrival your guide will hand out backpacks, walking poles, water bottles, snacks, and prepare you for the walk.
The next 2.5 hours will be spent walking around Godley Head Loop Track, undoubtedly one of Christchurch’s most beautiful hikes. The track is undulating and well-maintained. Sights include Scott’s Hutt (an Antarctic Cabin), WW2 Gun emplacements, a penguin colony, and coastal views in all directions. You will return to Taylors Mistake with wonderful photos and memories of a great walk.
