Your private night tour starts with pickup at the Woodend Train station or Your Melbourne city accommodation (additional cost) We then drive into the Wombat State Forest in a custom 4×4 tour bus that can traverse the Great Dividing Range in any weather.
Our first stop is the Lovely Trentham water falls, the longest single drop waterfall in Victoria.
The best thing about this tour is that your guide never knows what you will encounter and when —every night is different this will keep you on the edge of your seat. Your bus is equipped with side lights so you can be involved in the spotting of animals, which is one of the most exciting parts of the tour. Your guide gives you plenty of hints and tips on how to find them and provides heaps of interesting facts about the various Australian animals you will encounter.
We also make a stop a a local mineral water spring and you will get a chance to try the water that is claimed to have brought both health and well being to the local area for over a hundred years.
The weather on the night dictates whether you will take a small bush walk or enjoy stargazing in the night sky. In addition to learning about the animals, you’ll also hear about the history the area. Your tour ends with return to your pickup location. There is a 98% chance you will see a Wombat in the wild as we usually see about 4-5.
