Why choose this Queensland tour ?
On the North Stradbroke Island Tour, migrating whales can be spotted from June to October, along with dolphins and turtles all year round. The island enjoys spectacular ocean views and has a rich history. It is home to many talented artists, a few of which we will visit when we arrive at Dunwich.
On our way to Point Lookout, we will stop at Myora Springs; a small creek leading into the surrounding mangroves.
In Point Lookout, we enjoy the spectacular coastal views on the North Gorge Walk.
North Stradbroke Island has beautiful beaches. It will be difficult to choose one for the stroll after lunch.
Brown Lake gets its name from the colour of the water. The clear tea colour comes from the surrounding tea trees and reeds. The natural bushland surrounding the lake is home to many delicate flowers. Here we will have afternoon tea or a refreshing swim before we head back to the mainland.
You will leave this beautiful tropical island with a lot of wonderful memories.

Myora Springs is a beautiful spot and source of freshwater for the wildlife of the Dunwich area, just a few kilometres out of Dunwich on the road to Amity Point and Point Lookout. Myora Springs, or Moongalba (sitting down place) has a pure-freshwater spring that is running today, just as it has for thousands of years. In the forest surrounding the Myora Springs is an abundance of freshwater crayfish, prawns, bungwal fern, and other plant foods and so it is no surprise to learn this was a favoured camping place of the Aboriginal people. The banks feature parts of large middens, which contain, among other things, cockle, oyster and whelk shells.
The Gorge Walk at Point Lookout is a must for all visitors to the island. This gentle walk offers outstanding views across the ocean and is an ideal vantage point for spotting marine life such as turtles, dolphins, and manta rays. From June to November, visitors can delight in watching humpback whales pass close to the coastline on their annual migration. The Gorge Walk also offers stunning views along beautiful Main Beach to Jumpinpin, the Island’s southern tip.
A natural perched lake, pure rainwater tinged brown by the native tea trees, Brown Lake, or Lake Bummiera, is a hidden treasure. Popular swimming place and picnic spot. The calm tranquility of the lake is entrancing, especially if you visit in the early morning or late afternoon. In spring, wildflowers dot the surrounding bushland. Lake Bummiera has special significance to the local Aboriginal people, and if you visit at a quiet time of day you’ll feel the magic.
There is plenty of opportunities to choose for a delicious lunch in Point Lookout. And there is two amazing ice creme shop to choose from.
After lunch, we will visit one of the beautiful beaches around Point Lookout.
