This tribute to our soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice in Afghanistan is 3kms from Yungaburra. Subsequent to the funeral of one of Yungaburra’s favourite sons a community decision was made to construct this living memorial. If you are in Yungaburra it is a must visit.

George Curry an early surveyor, concerned with the rapidly diminishing rainforest, applied for and was granted a perpetual lease of one acre on the shore of the lake and in collaboration with the local council and the State Forestry Dept formed a Lake’s Trust. The Curry family invite you to enjoy the view and food in their Teahouse.
